There is a science behind it that science we have learnt in our 8th standard science books. When sound waves reach our ears, they cause the eardrum to vibrate. How long & how much sound is good?
According to centers for disease control and prevention 80 db for more than 25 hours, 90 db for more than 1.5 hours, 100 db for 12 min and 110 db for more than 1.5 minute is dangerous for ears. One golden rule of thumb is the 60-60 rule. Don’t listen at more than 60% of max volume and for any longer than 60 minutes at a time.
